What is the easiest way to melt gold?

Hi. I'm new to this forum. My hobby is gold prospecting. I'm wondering what is the easiest method to melt gold flakes into a larger chunk or nugget? I'm not trying to sculpt fancy jewerly. I just need to know how to make the fire the right temperature and the best thing to melt it on or in.
