Default Silver and Glass

I have a doing a lampwork glass and sliver collaboration with a friend.
The question I have is about annealing the silver with the glass.
Can I anneal the silver at 986 degrees? If so for how long? I don't want to ruin the silver with a long soak time.

Hi,
Annealing silver below 1100 degrees becomes a challenge. The time of heat exposure would need to be increased. How much, would have to be determined by trial and error and experimentation on possibly a smalll piece of material. I will see if I can dig up a graph that would be more help. Good luck with your project.

The most accurate answer to this question about silver could probably be obtained from posting in the forum at www.silversmithing.com. The website is from the Society of American Silversmiths and has a wealth of knowledge on the site plus a forum. Hope this will help.
